To document the properties of the snowpack six snowpits are made in Kobbefjord each year in late winter (app. April). The logging of the stratigraphy includes description of snow grain size, grain shape and hardness downthrough the profile. Snow temperatures and densities of the snow pit is found under Snow properties - DensityTemperature. The snow survey in Kobbefjord has been carried out annually in late winter since 2008.
