Physico-chemical profiles in proglacial Thores Lake, Ellesmere Island, Nunavut

The number of glacial lakes is rapidly increasing with glacial retreat in the Canadian High Arctic, yet very little is known about the biology of these aquatic environments. This Nordicana D archive presents water column data from Thores Lake, a proglacial lake bordering Thores glacier located near the terminus of the Disraeli Fiord on Ellesmere Island. The dataset includes profiles from the summers of 2018 (single site) and 2019 (transects). The 2018 data were generated with two multi-parameter sondes (RXO2 and RBR Concerto). Measured parameters include depth, chlorophyll, conductivity, fluorescent dissolved organic matter, total dissolved solids and temperature. In 2019, the transect data were generated with a multi-parameter sonde (RBR Concerto), and measured parameters included depth, temperature, conductivity and chlorophyll.
